e15 collaborated with Copenhagen-based design- and architecture studio Spacon & X to design an exclusive range of furniture for POPL – a new restaurant, within the noma family, in Copenhagen.
The space located at Strandgade 108 in Christianshavn was conceptualised and designed by Spacon & X. The name itself – derived from the Latin word ‘populus’ meaning ‘community of people’ – reflects the spirit and heart of POPL.
Housed inside a former warehouse, POPL’s design combines industrial elements with soft textures and surfaces. The main material palette consists of naturally oiled brown core ash wood and serves as a material reference to the restaurant’s dedication to environmental consideration.
Spacon & X teamed up with e15 to create a collection of custom-made furniture, ranging from chairs, stools, coat hangers, and different types of tables.
The different pieces illustrate simplicity in their archetypal structures. The main material is solid brown core ash, a strong hardwood with a beautiful grain and colour. Reflecting traditional craftsmanship, the construction is based on established joinery methods, providing lasting quality. The tabletops are sealed with Richlite, a special ecological product made from recycled paper and bio resin.
