Inspired by traditional pottery from the Frankfurt region, stoneware series SALINA combines modern design with authentic material, which develops its unique texture and colour through the treatment with salt. Developed in collaboration with Jens Becker, founder of Frankfurt’s first shop dedicated to regional cider, SALINA is handmade in a small workshop in the Southwest of Germany. Home to the richest and most high-grade deposits of clay in Europe, the region has developed a world-wide reputation for its salt-glazed, sand grey stoneware over the last centuries. Before baking the stoneware in kilns at temperatures of up to 1300° C, the potter signs each piece and embosses the e15 logo at the bottom, marking it as an original.
