In Cologne e15 showcases with a special anniversary exhibition presenting new releases along with a comprehensive presentation of its classics and extracts from the collection of furniture, lighting and accessories. As a special jubilee highlight, e15 will debut the BIGFOOT™ Anniversary Edition and BIGFOOT™ DICE by artist and illustrator Geoff McFetridge.
20 years e15
2015 marks the twentieth year of e15 and the anniversary of the company’s first product, the now iconic table BIGFOOT™. e15 prides in a coherent collection of progressive furniture, lighting and accessories that bridges between residential and contract applications. A clear, unmistakable design language and consistent product philosophy resonate in collaborations with artists, designers and architects from around the world. At the brand’s core remain the founding principles of e15, devised with the first range of tables at the founding of the company in 1995 in London’s east end: designing modern, honest, authentic, flexible and lasting products from pure, high quality materials, produced with the high art of craftsmanship and cutting edge technology. With a strong foundation in design and fashion, e15 is defined by the unique backgrounds of the co-founder Philipp Mainzer and art director Farah Ebrahimi. Their roots respectively shine through in the inspiration of the collections. E15’s jubilee year will be commemorated with striking new releases for the e15 and E15 SELECTED collections, as well as a series of events and exhibitions with the brand’s partners worldwide.
BIGFOOT™ Anniversary Edition
e15 celebrates two decades of the original solid wood table BIGFOOT™, marking the table’s enduring significance as the quintessential solid wood table and the benchmark for all others. BIGFOOT™ is e15’s first product and has become a design classic. Designed in 1994 by e15 co-founder and architect Philipp Mainzer, a radical new simplicity characterised the design of the table leaving an indelible mark in the evolution of contemporary furniture design. Made from solid European oak, the table’s essential forms boldly lay bare all natural markings and characteristics, thus establishing a leading reputation for e15 for the pioneering use of solid wood in its purest form. For the 20th anniversary, artist and illustrator Geoff McFetridge creates the BIGFOOT™ Anniversary Edition with laser etched figures covering the underside of the table. His artwork focuses on the table’s patron, the creature Bigfoot believed to inhabit forests, mainly in the Northwest region of America. A limited edition of 94 tables referring to the table’s year of design is produced. Each BIGFOOT™ table is branded with an authenticating stainless steel plaque, holding Philipp Mainzer’s signature.
BIGFOOT™ DICE
Artist and illustrator Geoff McFetridge creates the limited edition BIGFOOT™ DICE celebrating the twentieth year of e15 and its first product, the iconic table BIGFOOT™ designed by the company’s co-founder and architect Philipp Mainzer. Etched onto the dice, the artist playfully invents scenes illustrating the table’s patron, the creature Bigfoot. The shape and dimension of the BIGFOOT™ DICE is made from the signature solid oak heartwood legs of the celebrated table.

This year’s exhibition design is centred around e15‘s twentieth anniversary. In a museum like setting, the Anniversary Edition table by artist Geoff McFetridge is placed upon a white platform from which the presentation unfolds into interlocking rooms and intriguing architectural viewpoints. White walls and raw concrete floor with informative graphics in individual settings showcase the strength and distinct character of the brand. The anniversary fair stand is designed by PHILIPP MAINZER OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN.
