The distinct outlines of NONA chess figures illustrate a decisive cut and minimum design intervention to create each character. Each figure
is inspired by the moves it can make. NONA is named in appreciation of the first woman to be awarded the International Grandmaster title
in 1978. The wooden chess figures are hand-made in Germany and are finished in clear and black lacquered oak with felt gliders.
They are developed
with attention to proportion and scale in relation to the corresponding chessboard NONA in harness leather, which is available separately.
