On the occasion of his solo exhibition at Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt, e15 launches under the E15 SELECTED label a limited edition of table ANTON in collaboration with German contemporary artist Michael Riedel.
For the Edition Michael Riedel, the artist especially created twelve motives within his ‘Art Material’ series which is characterised by a never-ending process of overlapping text blocks, resulting in areas dense with white text set on a monochrome black surface. The motives are laser etched into matte white table tops made from a laminated material to reveal the underlying black core, resulting in a three dimensional effect. Originally designed by e15 co-founder and architect Philipp Mainzer, table ANTON is characterised by a minimal and linear silhouette and reflects the brand’s philosophy based on consistent and progressive design.
E15 SELECTED is a platform for unique pieces, celebrating artistic statements and high quality craftsmanship. The Edition Michael Riedel for E15 SELECTED launches on 15 May 2018.
MICHAEL RIEDEL
Since 2010, Frankfurt based artist Michael Riedel has been creating “poster paintings” and “powerpoint paintings” using information from websites communicating his work, which he silkscreens onto canvas. Based on conditions of endless possible continuations, the selected text areas result in a new type of visual language for his installation and events. Over the past decade, Michael Riedel has participated widely in international exhibitions, including a major solo exhibition at the Kunsthalle Zürich. A survey of the artist’s work will be hosted at Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt, from 8 June to 14
