FORTYFORTY at Wilhelm Wagenfeld Stiftung

As part of the exhibition “Stapeln. Ein Prinzip der Moderne” at the Wilhelm Wagenfeld Foundation in Bremen, Germany, stackable side table FORTYFORTY by Ferdinand Kramer will be presented next to pieces by selected designers and artists such as Alvar Aalto, Joe Colombo and Enzo Mari.

The exhibition aims at exploring the phenomenon of stacking as an essential cultural technique. Since the beginning of the 20th century, with a society perceiving space, time and raw materials as scarce resources, the need for space-saving, flexible solutions is growing. The exhibition visualises the complexity of stacking objects on top of each other, into each other or next to each other. This way of interpreting space is closely related to topics of modern age and influences many areas of our private and work life.

“Stapeln. Ein Prinzip der Moderne” will be on show from 18 November 2016 to 14 April 2017.
